The Plan

We think we should tell my parents first because we told Duncan's parents first last time. Next weekend is a free weekend for the University of Kentucky football team, so that would be the best time to travel. Maybe we can meet my parents half-way. Maybe in Louisville.

If we meet in Louisville, we should DO something... Duncan thought of the zoo.

So we could tell people we're going to the zoo and we'd welcome whoever would like to join us.

Hopefully my parents would come! And if my brothers and their families come, that'd be even better.

We don't know if Grey/Brian/kids would come... or if Duncan's parents would want to do that... but if they wanted to come, that would be okay too. We could kill several birds with one stone.

So even if my parents aren't the very FIRST to know in our family... they would be at the very first announcement. :)

Then when everyone is at the zoo together, we announce! I e-mailed the Louisville Zoo to see if they could do anything to help... put up a sign... make an announcement... I don't know... Duncan didn't seem very optimistic about them playing a role in our announcement but said it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I thought we would tell Rachel first. But after discussing it last night, if that doesn't really work out, I guess that's okay. It seems important that we tell her first... but ya know... she's already not the first to know. And she won't remember either way.

Also, Duncan said it's okay with him if Grey & Brian find out before his parents (if G & B come to the zoo and his parents don't). If we're really going to do this next Saturday and they're not there, he talked about driving back home and going straight to their house to tell them Saturday night... or getting up and going to their house before church on Sunday to tell them.

He said he thought we should wait to tell the general public... but it's so hard when someone tells me she's pregnant AND I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL ANYONE! It's such a burden! I want to be able to tell Dunc's parents and tell them they don't have to keep it a secret. Also... once Rachel knows, there's no telling who she's going to tell!

So Duncan agreed that when we tell, we'll let the WHOLE cat outta the bag. ;)

BESIDES: I WANNA SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! If something horrible happens, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Until then, we'll just assume everything will go along just like last time.

Now I just gotta get my parents to come to Louisville!
