Leaking
So I told my two best girlfriends from college.
Couldn't help it.
They both know I've been struggling with not getting pregnant.
We have our own private little message board too.
I posted my positive pregnancy test picture and talked a bit about what I've been going through lately and waited.
Finally I went to Facebook and sent them both a message to READ MY MOST RECENT POST!
Not long after, Shana called.
She was in tears! She made tears come to *my* eyes!
She is around four months pregnant and when she first told me her news, I was so happy for her and so sad for myself. She told me I had nine months to get pregnant so we could go through it together. I thought to myself, "What pressure!" but tried not to think about it.
So by the time *I* am four months, she'll have her fourth child. A girl. Who will have 3 big brothers. I have 3 brothers myself. It's not a bad way to grow up. ;)
Here's what she later posted:
Then she wrote
For some reason the last line really hit me. "Big Sister" Rachel. I've wanted that for her. I've prayed for that. I wanted her to have someone who grows up with her having same or similar experiences.
Duncan asked her if she wanted a baby boy or girl to come live with us some day. She said she did. He said, "Tell Mama what you want." She turned to me and said, "I want a baby sistuh. I want a guhl baby." Duncan asked her what she'd do with the baby and she said, "I will rock her and sing her songs." (This was as she had her arms in a cradle position, rocking an invisible baby.)
So not very long after Shana called me, Nancy called. We didn't talk long but she told me how happy she was for me. It means so much to have my friends "in on it." I know it's too early to tell the world, but if something happened, I'd need them for support and sympathy!

YAY!!!!!!!!!
Even though I called Sarah as soon as I read this I had to go ahead and respond, too, because this news is just too, too good and deserves the biggest response I can give. This doesn't really do it justice.
This one gets close, but doesn't quite capture the emotion that I'm after.
Actually this one is closer to what I was feeling when I read it and called Sarah - just that I was crying and laughing at the same time.
This one is how I feel now when I think about it.

This is what I wish I could do to Sarah right about now.
And I'll even throw this one in for Duncan, for good measure.

I'm am so happy to walk along with you on this precious journey. Sarah, I have really thought about you every day and have prayed for you and for this baby. I will keep doing that, too! Here I go tearing up again, darn hormones!
Love you so much!
Tell Duncan that we love him too, and that precious little 'big sister' Rachel.
