Change of Plans

Let's say we leave for the Louisville Zoo at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning to meet my parents and whoever. We'd get there by 10 a.m. our time (11 a.m. Louisville time). We'd only have a couple of hours before Rachel's nap time... so we'd have to fit in a very quick run of the zoo before lunch before nap. And then drive back home during her nap? And hopefully she'd sleep on the way?

That's a five hour drive in 7-8 hours. Hmmm.

We could probably stay with G & B... spend the night with them Friday night... or let Rachel nap at their house on Saturday... but we hate to intrude AGAIN. Those poor folks have had lots of company since the baby was born and I'm sure they'd like a weekend with just them.

Of course we don't know this for sure. We're speculating. And being a little selfish too.

We really want to tell my parents in person. We want to make it special.

But that's a lot of driving. And a lot of gas money.

And we just paid for new brakes in Duncan's car. Surprise!

So. I think on Saturday or Sunday... we'll have a sit down talk with Rachel. We'll call Mom & Dad and let Rachel tell them. Then we'll see Sandy & David at some point.

Ooh! We could even call Mom & Dad Saturday night and then tell Sandy & David Sunday morning!

I'm gonna go look for an "I'm the Big Sister" shirt now. ;)
