How My Life's Changing: 9 Weeks

You still may not look pregnant even if your waist is thickening a bit.

I can't really tell. When I stopped Weight Watchers and working out regularly, I gained back a bunch of weight that I'd lost. But not ALL of it. I'm getting back into an exercise routine and Duncan and I both are trying to eat healthier... All of this to say that my waist is already thick. I can't tell any differences yet!

You probably feel pregnant, though.

Except for being really tired, I don't feel physically pregnant. Hmmm...

Not only are morning sickness and other physical symptoms out in full force for most women, but you may feel like an emotional pinball as well.

Oh yes. Poor Rachel & Duncan. :(
An example of this might be... I found out today that a sorority sister died. She was a freshman when I was a senior. I didn't know her really, but I remember her. She was a sweet girl. Her freshman year roommate was my grand-little sister. So I feel badly for my grand-little... and this girl's husband and family... she was only 28 years old. It is very, very sad. But I just cried about it. Rachel was napping and I laid in bed and bawled. I'm starting to choke up right now. I don't know if I'd have this reaction if I wasn't pregnant... maybe I would. It just seems like too much from someone who didn't know her. :(

Mood swings are common now — it's perfectly normal to feel alternately elated and terrified about becoming a parent.

Hahaha... oh yes. But most of the time I'm just tired.

Try to cut yourself some slack.

Oh, I do. And YOU better too!

Most women find that moodiness flares up at around six to ten weeks, eases up in the second trimester, and then reappears as pregnancy winds to a close.

Well, goody.

Sarah, I'm so excited for you, Duncan and Rachel. I didn't know "for sure" until I heard someone congratulate Duncan at church on Sunday. :-) Hope it's ok if I read your blog. See ya at handbells tonight.
